06:32 pm - Random ficlet thingies.

I put up a prompt on tumblr the other day, "Put a ship in my ask box and i'll write a ficlet about them", and now I feel like posting them somewhere else. There are only 4. The first 3 are Huddy and the last is the Doctor & River.

02:39 am - Hope : An H|C ficlet

She smiled lightly as she felt him lift her shirt up just a bit over her

midriff. His touch was gentle as he caressed her abdomen, causing her
smile to broaden. She could note the curiosity in his eyes, something
that was so rarely seen it was a spectacle to observe.

“What are you doing?” She asked gently as his fingers traced the curve of her
lower abdomen.

What does it look like I'm doing?”

“House, you're not going to feel anything.”

You don't know that for a fact now do you?”

She rolled her eyes, letting out a soft laugh.

She had wondered how long it would have taken him to do this and waspleasantly surprised when he did it before she had expected. They hadknown for about two and a half months at this point, and she had believed it would have taken him another month.

Before they found out, they had feared the worst, another cancer scare perhaps, or maybe it was time to facethe fact that they weren't as young as they wished they were.

He tapped his fingers against her stomach, almost in a rhythmic sort of way. Her skin was soft beneath his finger tips, and smirked as she gave the smallest of shudders, caused by how cool his fingers felt against her.

When she'd told him, he had been stunned. Stunned because he was sure that
it was something bad, something that would take her from him for good
this time around. Stunned because the truth had been the farthest
possibility from his mind. But now almost two and a half months
later, he was beginning to accept it. Maybe this would be their
salvation, the one thing that would keep their relationship intact
and from crumbling once more.

He placed both hands on her stomach before resting his head against it. His fingers continued to tap against her lower abdomen, causing another soft laugh to escape her lips. He looked up at her for amoment before resuming his previous position. He closed his eyes, andfor the briefest of seconds he swore he felt the smallest movement. He opened his eyes and smiled.

For once in his life there was a tiny glimmer of hope.
